R.I.P., Bob Bogle

Bob Bogle, guitarist for The Ventures, has died.

If you think you're not familiar with his music, you're likely wrong, as he gave us arguably the most famous guitar lick in TV theme history, thanks to Hawaii Five-O.

I'm glad he lived long enough to get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, at least (although Wikipedia says he wasn't able to attend the ceremony).

Poor guy, it sounds like he really suffered the last few years of his life.

My cell phone ring tone is actually the Hawaii Five-O Theme (yes- annoying) since it is an in-joke between me and my Dad.

Oh no! My dad is (was?) friends with one of the guys from The Ventures - but can't remember which one. He was really excited for them when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
