Well, there's some justice
Feb. 25th, 2014 01:21 pmAs I posted a few weeks ago, King Games had been attempting to claim a game trademark on the word "Candy." No one was amused, and it was clearly a legal tactic designed to bully people who couldn't afford to fight them.
A few weeks later, King has announced that they've dropped the application.
It's good to know that some people can eventually come to realize that they're abusing the legal system (okay, the probably realized that to begin with), and that it was a bad idea. Doesn't excuse what King's been doing, but it makes it easier to consider the stuff they do moving forward (noting, of course, that as with public apologies, it's their future actions that'll really determine whether they're worthy of respect and business).
