I learned that writer’s block is a myth created by people who don’t have, or understand, a writing process. None of the pros ever get it, and you never hear about a newspaper reporter ever having it.

That would be horror writer Jonathan Maberry, about whom I've otherwise heard good stuff who's said some stupid crap before, but whose name I'd forgotten.

The horror listserv I'm on is already having fun with that quote, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Yes, once you get your pro license, it automatically changes the factors in your brain that cause writer's block. It's like magic!

Well, it's clear he's a pro.

I don't mean Maberry; I mean Larry Atkinson, the newspaper reporter who interviewed Maberry, teaches journalism, and didn't laugh out loud when he was told that he never hears about newspaper reporters eve having writers block. Or who, at least, didn't add it into the article.
