So Elayna wanted to watch Hercules to see how horribly it mangles Greek myth (she wasn't that familiar with mythology when she was five and watching the movie regularly). The movie, of course, is about as accurate a representation of Greek myth as Friday the 13th Part 3 is a representation of The Story of O.

But what I'd missed was the ridiculous use of the Titans as giant elemental beings. Specifically, as the Appelaxians. Which in many ways takes things full circle from the "DC Heroes as gods" fetish that every DC writer since Alan Moore in Swamp Thing has evinced.

Please! First episodes, archers with compound bows. But mangler or not, the series was certainly fun. As was Xena.

He's talking about the Disney film. One of Disney's lesser recent animated films (I remember watching it and thinking "And your point is...?").

But at least there was all that fab Gerald Scarfe design work. It's worth watching just for that.
