The Good: Made a yummy butternut squash risotto. Was damned tasty, and there's not a bite left. And it was insanely easy.

The Bad: I stabbed myself in the stomach with an ice cream scoop.

Really. We had a red ice cream scoop from Lizzy's (which can kind of see in the middle picture on this page). I went to scoop some chocolate fudge brownie ice cream for Elayna, and the next thing I knew, there was a loud snapping sound, and I was shouting like Al Swearengen on Deadwood.

Even though the ice cream wasn't all that hard, and even though this is a solid scoop, it's still a plastic scoop, and it just plain broke. And the momentum carried the now-jagged decapitated scoop straight into my gut.

No, it didn't go deep, and yes, I've used Neosporin on it. But damn, of all the ways to get hurt in the kitchen, scooping ice cream wasn't one I expected.
