Wow.

Damn, that was a good episode.

John Simm continues to impress me more each day.

One brief spoiler/speculation:

So we know that performing a ritual and sacrificing a few lives brings back one Time Lord.

Also, the Ood are being manipulated by an external force.

Oh, and the Time Lords will come back.

Are the Ood being groomed to sacrifice themselves to bring back the Time Lords?

I'm not too sure I'm a fan of Time Lords as a race at this point.

The Time Lords (the leadership, at least, not the entire race) were revealed to be corrupt in "Trial of a Time Lord" (Doctor!Six).

Here's a clip from next week's part two. It looks like the Time Lords knew the end was coming, and made steps to circumvent their extinction (as the Daleks did with the "Genesis Ark" in the Void Ship, etc.) -- and yes, they (the leadership) are bastards. Will the Time Lords be the ultimate "Big Bad" at the end of this story?

Did you see this on BBC America, or did you get it somewhere on the 'net? (We don't have BBC America, you see...)

Man, I thought it was just terrible. Bad music, bad acting, horrible writing. Half the episode was people looking worried while music swelled. The other half was awkward and troubling Obama references and all of the sudden superpowers and Timothy Dalton. I've really noticed in these specials how bad the pacing has gotten. Your mileage varies, obviously. but I thought it was some of the worst tv and definitely worst Who I've ever seen. Can't wait for moffat.

What could the point of this evil plan with the master being malkoviched possibly be?

Opinions vary on the Who part, but I'm concerned that your baseline for worst television might need further calibration.

(This is how it could have ended, for example.)

Besides, the point of Mastervich is clear: now he can wear high heels and track suits without clashing.

You'll need to Torrent it in

The file name you are looking for is probably very like:

Doctor Who Christmas Special 2009 The End of Time Part 1 [MM].avi.

The MM is for MadMartha, the lovely woman who supplies us :)

I apologise for not linking directly to a tracker, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding one, even now.

Seems obvious to me that the Doctor is going to end up having to sacrifice the opportunity to let the Time Lords return. It's the sort of sacrifice that the Doctor is forced to make all the time.

Sucks to be the Doctor.
