Because she apparently designed (or, following George Foreman's model, put her name on) an Egg McMuffin toaster!

Of course, it does need a way to warm meat (bacon would be ideal, but a thin slice of ham is traditional), but it's still a huge step in culinary technology.

(And no, it's not something I actually need at all. But man, am I glad to live in a world in which such marvels exist.)

Actually, Back to Basics has had variations of that out for a long long time. The one we had (which sadly died) was nice, but the muffin is done cooking long before the egg and winds up totally dried out. My understanding is that the double variety (you can make two at once!) is kinder on the muffins.

And it really only works for english muffins. The slots are far too shallow for, say, toast.

Maybe you could use it for warming scones too (split in half, of course)...
Nah, not much better. Still pretty much a unitasker.

Oh, and ours did have a way to cook meats. Not crispy cook, but at least heat up like ham slices or something. There was a lattice tray that the egg cup sits on, then another lattice that can cover that, and you could put the meats on top of that lattice, and then stick the clear top on it. Not sure if the Paula Deen variety has that part or not, though.

My friends have that one and use it all the time. They have three kids with varying nutritional needs and tastes (and an elderly diabetic mother), so it's a lifesaver for them.
