Amazon has launched a line of enhanced ebooks for the Kindle.

Specifically, for the Kindle app on the iPhone/iPad. They won't work on the actual Kindle devices.

At this point, I'm much more convinced of the viability of e-textbooks as something that will work in the app market (or in the secondary app market, playing as content inside the Kindle or iBooks app) than on the e-reader platforms directly.

This semester for 5 classes, I paid $275 for books because I bought international editions at $50 pop for 3 classes. The average cost of my books had I got them used at the bookstore was $135 each.

I love e-books. I love the ability to search like in a document. I would LOVE to have my text books as PDF's. I would STILL be ok with paying $30-ish for them. And while I love a used book price, I despise having someone else's notes or highlighting all over the damn thing.
