Amazon has launched a line of enhanced ebooks for the Kindle.
Specifically, for the Kindle app on the iPhone/iPad. They won't work on the actual Kindle devices.
At this point, I'm much more convinced of the viability of e-textbooks as something that will work in the app market (or in the secondary app market, playing as content inside the Kindle or iBooks app) than on the e-reader platforms directly.

And while I love a used book price, I despise having someone else's notes or highlighting all over the damn thing.
