When life gives you turnips, make something other than turnipade

So our CSA provided us with a pair of large turnips. My instincts when dealing with a turnip are either A) carve it into a radio as a tribute to a true '80s classic, or B) fling it at a creature in Super Mario Bros. 2. Neither of those really involve cooking or eating.

Yes, I can google stuff, but anyone have any favorite culinary things to do with a turnip?
