There's a new and free Andrew Vachss story on the web! As the Crow Flies doesn't focus on triggery stuff his other stories, although it does feature the results of animal cruelty. It's also one of the few times I think I've ever seen Joe Lansdale show up in any comments section online.

And his new novel, The Weight, comes out today. One of my fellow anonymous PW reviewers gives it a less-than-stellar review, but that's not going to keep me away, of course.
