So, I guess this will be remembered as the week when Vanessa Bayer established that Jay Pharoah wasn't going to be the only newb to stick around. She seriously nailed her stuff in three headlining skits (including one where she had to match up with the host).
Scarlett Johansson was fabulous, of course, and Kristen Wiig's Paula Deen was damned fine, too. Arcade Fire was funny in the digital short, and unintentionally funny when they attempted to "sing." But SNL musical acts are why the fast-forward button exists, of course. Other highlights included the perfect parody of the Unstoppable trailer, which is likely much better than the movie will be.
