This, folks, is why important legal decisions should not be made by 450-year-old explorers.

I'm guessing this, unlike every case where, say, a judge declared a law that discriminated against gay people unconstitutional, will not be labeled "judicial activism."

you watch: Republicans WILL decry this because the only thing the judge has so far is that its unconstitutional to require all Americans to purchase insurance. That was the part PHARMA loved the most. They'll fight it. WHich is the exact same reason I'm glad the judge is doing it. What we were left with in the health care reform was nothing but a handout to PHARMA.

I can't fight it: I am pleased that the Federal Government does not have the authority to order me to buy stuff.

Yes. Me, too. I think that is entirely inappropriate.

Now, if they want to make sure everyone has access to actual health CARE- rather than mandating that we all buy health INSURANCE (Mostly from for-profit companies) which is not anything like the same thing- they can do taxed single-payer.

But forcing us to buy consumer products from for-profit companies? Hell, no.

I haven't clicked the link. Is it going to make me kill myself? People who have shotguns in the house want to know...
