The neverending joke continues

In two months, Pat the Zombie will be released.

It's still a better idea than at least half the other monsterfied classics, like Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, or Middlemarch and Minotaurs, or All Quiet On the Western Front Except Holy Shit, Zombies!, or Nicholas Nickelback*, but I'm a little jaded about the entire classics/monster mashup concept at this point. Maybe if any of the books were actually good enough to work as something more than one-beat jokes, I'd be more of a fan.

*Okay, I made these last three up, but you know publishers are thinking about them. Also, adding Nickelback to any book has to make it scarier.

So, erm, under a pseudonym, I wrote one. I confess this to you freely. I like to think it's pretty good as a book outside of its central joke which is admittedly pretty stupid.

Well, if it's not Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I can at least assure you that I haven't read it (and therefore wasn't explicitly condemning it). At some point, I'd love to know which one it was (I've got one I'd guess, but I also suspect there are a lot of mashups I'm not even aware of).
