And by
yendi, I actually mean the airplane I was in, which I suspect wasn't actually called an eagle, but something boring like "Airbus Model 18" or somesuch. But the point is, thanks to Jetblue, I'm in Chicago for the Sloan-C Blended Learning Conference.
Well, actually outside of Chicago, in Oak Brook, which I'd never heard of, since the only Chicago suburb I was familiar with before was Downer's Grove, and that's only because it's where Randy Savage and Leapin' Lanny Poffo hail from.
The weather is cold, but since the entire conference takes place in the hotel, I'm not very concerned about that. And since I flew here on Jetblue, the travel experience was quite nice, as these things go.
Since my only "free" time is this evening (and between being in relative BFE and being tired from travel, I suspect I'll be early, even taking the time zone into account), I haven't really mentioned my travel plans, as getting together with folks (unless anyone else is at the conference) seems unlikely. I've got an evening work get-together tomorrow, and am hopping a late afternoon flight home on Tuesday (because the difference between getting to attend a conference or not is often that extra night in the hotel).
I'm taking advantage of the travel time to get some reading in, as I've got a ton of PW reviews to do. That said, my airplane read was to finally finish Doctorow's For the Win, which was damned fine (and increasingly relevant, given the stuff still going on in Wisconsin).
Teal Deer version of the post: Traveling, likely not really online or paying attention to anything until Wednesday.
Am off now to read for a bit and possibly nap until dinnertime.
