is back, and safe, with a lot fewer teeth. Ended up not being nearly as huge a financial hit as expected, thankfully. It was all about the rotting teeth, no jaw issues or whatnot.

Of course, now the other two cats are hissing at him, as if he's some new cat they've never seen before. They'll learn to deal.

That's wonderful! I'm happy to hear it, both that Jack's jaw is okay (relatively), and that it wasn't as big a financial hit as it could have been.

Good news on both counts.

Yay for sighs of relief.

Congratulations on getting Jack home so soon and without jaw surgery. I know dental issues in cats are no joke; my Yasha, now almost 16 years old, has had dental work done a couple of times and it's a major procedure no matter what.

I'm happy for you and your family and I am so glad Jack has you all to count on.

YAY!!

Maybe rub him with your used pillowcase or shirt? If he can't smell like himself, the other cats will at least be happier with him if he smells like you.

Man, this just gave me the impression that they're freaked out the way we would be if a child had a grown-up voice or vice versa or your brother suddenly started speaking ancient Sumerian, or you have an aunt who always wears workout clothes and she's suddenly taken to wearing a tuxedo.

I'm sure they're hissing because he smells like the vet's office. Once that wears off, he'll be fine.

Glad to hear that it was nothing more than the teeth.

Glad to hear Jack is home and that he is on the mend.

He probably smells like the vet's office. Try rubbing him with a blanket or something else from in the house.
