I rarely overlap directly between my LJ and my Twitter account (nor do I have my tweets fed here; if you want 'em, they're easy enough to find, although you should be warned I mix academic tech, publishing, fandom, and even personal stuff there, and can get prolific when I'm attending a conference*).
But Ian Bogost's article on Gamification as Exploitationware is absolutely brilliant, and while it does benefit from some background reading (Bogost or McGonigal are both worth reading), it's stands alone nicely, especially if you've ever encountered gamifcation and any of the controversy surrounding it. And trust me, you've encountered it.
*One of my favorite features of Tweetdeck is the ability to filter out content based on a keyword, great for when someone is at a conference I don't care about.
