(These were my last two tweets, but they really make an LJ post)

Dear DC: Crap like this is the reason people hate you. And use bittorrent. http://aol.it/mqlrXD

(That last tweet should not be taken as an endorsement of Marvel, which has yet to find a great writer they can't mine for mediocrity.)

Note: No, I don't torrent current comics, since I have too many friends who actually write them. But I've been known to grab older books (like the first hundred issues of Detective I've been reading through; have I mentioned how unbelievably racist The Crimson Avenger could be?), as well as the occasional awful book that I hear about on Wait, What and say, "wait, I have to see if this is really as bad as it sounds." I last did that with Alan Moore's godawful cthulhu rape comic, whose name I've blissfully forgotten.

WTF? Really? She was a better character as Oracle than some masked crusader.

I don't know, which would you rather be? Yet another caped vigilante who can fly around from roof to roof and punch people in the face, or the information center of superheroes in Gotham city and beyond, who tells both Superman and Batman what to do and they listen, who can manipulate both villains and heroes on an as needed basis, while still able to kick butt when necessary?

I mean, obviously you would take what's behind door number one.

... I'm sorry, is my sarcastic voice showing? *sigh* I'm really quite inordinately upset about this.
