In fairness, I have no idea what the process was at the time; lettering could have taken place after the coloring, or been done by someone who didn't read English, or who was so busy following a style guide, he or she never looked at the text itself. In the end, I'd lay the blame at the feet of the editor, who should have caught the mistake no matter who made it.
