Thing I learned today: The connection between Wes Craven and Harry Chapin.

We saw The Chapin Sisters open Wednesday night for Rebecca Loebe. Since I was unfamiliar with them, I used the internets to find out that they're the daughters of Tom Chapin, Harry's brother (and a folk singer in his own right). Harry's wife Bonnie was married to Wes Craven (director of A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left, Swamp Thing, and possibly some films that haven't yet been remade), and they had one daughter together, Jessica. Tom and Bonnie's two daughters, Abigail and Lily, joined their half-sister Jessica as a singing group (although Jessica is on a leave of absence, per wikipedia).

And that's how Celestia was made thus, we have the link between slasher films and folk music.

And let's not forget Harry's daughter Jen. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jen_Chapin) Lot of musical talent in that family.

Craven already kinda established the folk/slasher link in Last House with the folky score by David Hess (aka Krug). The track 'Road Leads to Nowhere' was so good Eli Roth used it for Cabin Fever.

Okay, so I just wanted an excuse to use this icon.
