Elayna will be heading to Splash in a bit, and she got an email from her poetry instructor noting that she'll need a permission slip (since, *gasp*, there might be mature themes in the class. The sound you hear is me clutching my pearls).

The email tells the students to "print this form and have it signed by somebody whose handwriting looks like your guardian's."

I am amused.

My mom stopped having to sign my permission slips by the time I reached sixth grade. Granted, by perfecting her signature I also ensured she would no longer see any other notes sent home from school, either. :) And I had notes for excused absences and tardies once I hit high school. :D

That's lovely. It's wonderful to come across an authority figure with a sly sense of humor.

And, yet, as devil's advocate, if any parent had a problem with what their child was exposed to in this program, language like that is sure to be a poor choices of words, legally.
