On thankfullness

I don't tend to do enumerated lists of what I'm thankful for, as it's something that seems to risk becoming a slippery slope the more specific I get. Of course, I'm thankful for the big things, and most of these -- family, friends, employment, etc -- and many of these remain static (the importance of my wife and daughter, obviously). But the so-called "little things" also mean a lot, and each and every one of them has the potential to matter at just the right moment, whether because it's now a "big thing," or because it just happened to be the little thing I needed at the right time.

The point being, I'm grateful, for everything and everyone in my life.

Also, I'll likely be off of LJ most of today, as it's crazy bird-cooking day. See everyone tomorrow! May it be a great day, whether you're celebrating Thanksgiving, or merely having a pleasant Thursday.
