So, as soon as Crimbo ended, I did my first Trendy hardcore run in KOL. It was (as always) a 100% familiar run, this time with my Fancypants Scarecrow, as a Seal Clubber.
It wasn't my fastest HC run ever in terms of turns (1308, not quite as good as a 1,237-turn one I did last January as a Disco Bandit with a Smiling Rat as a familiar, or the 1285-one I did as a Turtle Tamer with a L'il Xenomorph), but it was my best in terms of days (7, a day shorter than about five different runs), which makes me happy. Of course, having a good familiar and doing this during Crimbo helps (I had access to good food early), but I'm still impressed. Trendy, in spite of the lack of access to some of my favorite skills (Divine Favors, Candy Hearts, Snowcones) is much easier than Way of the Surprising Fist or Bees Hate You. Of course, it's also got less content.
We'll see what happens when I lose access to the Crimbo Cafe (and the Fax Machine at the end of the month), of course.
