How's this for an alternate universe scenario?

The timelines diverge in 2003, when Tru Calling becomes Fox's biggest non-animated hit since The X-Files, and lasts a good decade. As a result, White Collar, Dollhouse, Criminal Minds, and the Hangover movies all fail to launch due to the casting choices they're forced to make. Dystopian future follows, naturally.

Why would it affect White Collar? Tim DeKay and Willie Garson weren't on Tru Calling....

(Yes, I know Matt Bomer was, but I can think of about half a dozen actors who could've pulled off Caffrey. What elevates the show is the characters of Burke and Mozzie.)

I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I do know some folks who obsess over Caffrey.
