1. Plants vs Zombies. Yes, it's free (both the iPhone and iPad versions). Go grab it. You know you want to.
2. Swing King, from Chillingo. Yes, it's another get-three-stars physics game, but it's kind of adorable, and I love some of the puzzle-solving concepts.
3. Dungelot. It's a tile-based Roguelike. You can level up your characters between quests, unlock new classes, etc. Lots of fun, and each class has its own gameplay strengths and weaknesses.
4. The Room for the iPhone. Okay, it's only free because it's a trial edition, and you need to pay to unlock it. But The Room for my iPad was one of the most fun puzzle games I've played, and totally worth the $2. Great puzzles for fans of games like Seventh Guest or Myst.
(Incredibly busy at work. Will take time to post more substantially later, but I am incredibly grateful for the comments and condolences about Victoria.)

I've picked up PvZ and The Room as well. Will let you know my thoughts once I've played them.
