Saxby Chambliss -- the man who ran the most despicable Senate campaign I've ever witnessed back when he slandered his way to victory over Max Cleland -- has apparently been inspired by the Republican shenanigans that served them so well last election, explaining that men between 17 and 23 might rape because the "hormone level created by nature" (not that Chambliss has ever given much credence to science) causes them to rape.

Yeah, Chambliss and his entire incapable-of-learning-a-damned-thing party can go fuck itself.

I thought you couldn't get much lower than what you did to Max Cleland (my boss has a picture of herself posing with him in her office).

It seems as though I was mistaken.

While still not defensible, I could see it at least being logically consistent if he did more to get more prisoners (of all stripes) pardoned because they were doing what society had prescribed for them.

At the opposite end, clever Democratic PR folks could use his latest statements as evidence of him being "soft on crime". Except that then continues to promote a society in which "soft on crime" is a condemnation.
