Very little annoys me as much as seeing a weather forecast like this:

I know it's irrational. It's entirely out of my control. But walking is my exercise, my best method of gathering thoughts, my stress relief, and my mode of transportation. Seeing it unavailable for six straight days feels like someone's personally sabotaging me, even if I have no one to blame.

And yes, people have worse weather right now -- my mom's in Phoenix, and I'm well aware of the stuff Oklahoma and other places have dealt with this year. I know it's not a big deal in the scheme of things, but it's a sure way to guarantee a shitty week.

Pretty much what we've been dealing with here, too, only about 10° hotter.

You have my sympathies. I haven't been able to do my own walking-to-restore-sanity-lower-stress-not-kill-people, either.

They are isolated thunderstorms, and they don't always happen (we didn't get any tonight). So you probably can still get most of your walking in.

(And sometimes, a walk in the rain can be refreshing)

This. We have hour by hour forecasting, exploit it!

I understand. My mile walk to the railway station in the pouring rain is annoying first thing in the morning. But it's England, so I constantly carry an umbrella in my backpack. :(

Be glad you're not on crutches.

:)

I'm just as annoyed as you are. :(

My phone represents this with a thunderstorm cloud with a question mark through the middle of it. So not helpful.

Immensely frustrating, I agree. Just because weather is worse somewhere else doesn't mean it's not also making your life difficult now.

It's annoying. Doubly annoying with a dog who wants to know why you hate him and won't let him enjoy a stroll in the lightning.

I feel you! I enjoy biking to work, its good exercise, faster than the bus, and fun. And yet, chance of storms? I'm taking the bus. Stupid weather.

I'm confused. That looks like perfect walking weather to me.

Yes. I've started running lately, and had a really great run on a recent rainy day. The rain helped with that unpleasant "hot" problem.

The trick is also that these are generally fast-moving. Friday I ran to my chiropractor on my lunch break and it was beautiful with a little humidity but bearable, and I was all about how I was going to get home from work and sit on my patio with a book and a tasty adult beverage.

Two hours later I look out the window at the office and it's dark and raining sideways.
