In the end, I think we're all going to be disappointed, not because Moffat is a sexist asswipe whose showrunning over the last four years has been dreadful (we should expect that by now), but because we know we won't get a Doctor who says stuff like this:

Still, theyre gonna have to write him a bit differently, i think.

Some of the shit 10 and 11 said are gonna sound ridiculous coming from this guy.

Or more ridiculous.

I might have been interested enough to start watching the show if they'd done something different this time around. But right now I remain pretty meh.

I'm just hoping for something more along a Traughton/Hartnell vibe. Given he may be the 13th doctor, it would be nice turn.

My dream is that after having stretched this loop de loop time BS for all of Matt Smith's era, which ended up flattening three female leads into covoluted plot devices who exist only to serve the Doctor, Moffat might top off by hitting reset back to Nine or One. And then get booted off the series and replaced by Jo Walton and/or Elizabeth Craft with the return of Susan or Romana.

Considering what a hypocritical scold RTD was, I still don't mind Moffat on Dr Who. Sherlock is another matter entirely.

I didn't love Moffat's work but I didn't really dislike it either. Then I had the misfortune of watching Sherlock.

Don't get me wrong, Sherlock is amazing. But as a result, there are times now when I watch Matt Smith bounce around the screen and it becomes far too obvious that much of Moffat's vision for DW can be summed up as 'Sherlock Holmes In Space'.
