Briefer post than usual. Commuting was hell, and work's got all sorts of stuff to keep me busy. Fortunately, yesterday's post is chock full of good deals, including House, Star Trek, Friday Night Lights, Man of Steel, Amazing Spider-Man, a huge buy 2, get 1 free sale, video games, and more.

The Deal of the Day is on Infant and Preschool toys, with 50% off a bunch of things, ranging from rockets to dumptrucks to submarines to table toys.

There's also a one-day sale on the basic Kindle for $49 ($20 off). This is the one with special offers.

And there's a one-day sale on men's Florsheim Shoes at 50% off.

Kindle Daily Deals include Anïas Nin's Henry and June for $2.99 and a bunch of World of Warcraft novels for $1.99 a pop.

In movies and TV, season 1 of House of Cards is $19.99 (70% off) on Blu-Ray.

Season 1 of Hunter (which was my favorite show when I was 12) is $5 (66% off)!

Red Dwarf: The Complete Collection is $53.49 (73% off). That is, of course, a smegging amazing deal.

Meanwhile, The Wire: The Complete Series is $69 (65% off).

In video games, Diablo III for the PS3 is $34.99 (42% off).

For the Vita, Pinball Heroes: Complete is $5.99 for the digital code.

In board games, Dominion Intrigue is $22.62 (50% off), and Mage Knight is $44.99 (44% off). Both are way cheaper than elsewhere.

While we like the kitchen gadgets, our $20 rice cooker does everything we need it to do.

*nod* Expensive rice cookers have always baffled me, too. But I do find that name intriguing.

That rice cooker is *awesome*.

Supposedly, the fuzzy logic lets the machine know when the rice is done perfectly.

I don't know - all I know is that I have never had a bad batch of rice come out of that thing. Or even one with that weird starch skin on the bottom.

Noted. I've never really used a rice cooker, but it does make sense that some would do it better than others. That said, it's so out of my price range that it's not a consideration this year, alas.
