Yup, and that's what aggravates me the most about them, that I usually agree with what they're getting at but their method of delivery is so godawful (and don't get me started on the guilt-trip popups). Sigh. That, and the fact that so many other websites are picking up on their methods. I started using Rather for Chrome, which hides posts by keyword, since Facebook isn't always great about hiding Upworthy, etc., even when I say I don't want to see any posts from/about them.

The thing is, there is a tab where you can select "Hide All from Upworthy" and it would hide it temporarily, but would come back in another reload or two. It seems to have stuck for now, at least. I still get annoyed when I see someone who is otherwise intelligent and thoughtful post an Upworthy link, with no relevant commentary other than something Doge would say, so it's like they're perpetuating the click-baitedness of the whole thing. If it's so important, give me a legitimate synopsis, and don't just say "wow" or "I cried at 3:15". Besides, it's probably shit that was already posted months ago and is old news. Grr.
