While checking links, I just noticed that The Shining Girls is only $2.99 on Kindle. If you have an interest in/tolerance for books with serial killers, buy this book, people!
Hmm. It feels more like a crime/thriller novel (think Laura Lippman or Thomas Harris) than a sci-fi piece. It just happens to have a time-travel element. If that's up your alley, then yes!
Ahh, thank you for that link! I saw The Shining Girls recommended in a "Must Read 2013" list and tried to find it on my library's e-book site. Unfortunately they didn't have it, but they had Zoo City, which I absolutely loved.
So again, thank you for the link, because I really wanted to read more of Beukes' work.
It was so good! I think I read it in something like 2 days, I couldn't put it down. I'm definitely excited to read The Shining Girls, but I have to get through two library books first (Phillip Roth's "The Plot Against America" and John Valliant's "The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival").
But now I have something awesome to read while I wait for my holds to come through!
