More Free iOS games
Feb. 6th, 2014 02:38 pm1. Stellar Wars. This one's probably going back to full price soonest. This is one of those kitchen sink games. It's gone lane defense stuff. It's got space shooter stuff. It's got mining and resource management. And it's got a goofy space plotline. Somehow, it works.
2. Modern Command. It's a new Free-to-Play from Chillingo, but the gameplay's good enough to make it worth my time. You have to defend your base from various troop assaults using only missiles and guns you upgrade at a central base (so no towers like in a TD game). The FTP stuff involves timers on the research tree and weapons that need time off every few missions, but since I tend to only play iOS games for twenty or thirty minutes at a time, that doesn't bother me.
3. Flick Champions: Winter. Another Chillingo one (a price drop this time, not FTP out of the gate). Cute little winter sports events and games.
4. Spell Quest. A cute word and spelling game. Some FTP elements, but nothing that's bothered me so far.

There's a plateau for resources, then it climbs up faster again as you expand them, then plateau and such.
It's not a "glued to the ipad addiction" game, but it's steady.
