Some free iOS games worth noting
Feb. 25th, 2014 09:24 am1. Another Case Solved. A nifty free-to-play (although not one that's ever felt intrusive so far) from Chillingo that combines a few different kinds of puzzles in a goofy private eye narrative. Fun, and the grinding puzzles (the ones that aren't "cases" and a part of the plotline) are good ways to kill two minutes on a bus.
2. Calculords. A freebie from Seanbaby (of Cracked.com and other places) in which you fight computer opponants in a combination of lane-defense, card collecting, and calulator management. Really. You have to add, subtract, and multiple your numbers to get totals that allow you to play your cards. It's more fun than it sounds.
3. QuizUp. A good chunk of you already play this, based on my FB feed, but for those who don't, it's a one-on-one quiz game with hundreds of categories (ranging from history and geography to comics and Twilight). Each round is seven-questions long, and you're rewarded on accuracy and speed. A lot of fun.
4. Autumn Dynasty. I actually haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it's a game that a lot of folks love, and the devs just got the rights back. It's free for a few days in anticipation of the sequel coming out, and is an RTS that's supposed to have solid multiplayer.
