So, what did we do last night, since Miss Kid was away? We did what any couple would do. We went to Wal-Mart. :-)

Seriously, Mike (Math grad student and friend of ours)'s girlfriend needed to head to Wal-Mart, and we wanted to meet her, so we agreed to go to Wal-Mart and dinner with them.

Before that, we hit a farewell party for my friend Rob, who got a fucking amazing job offer in New York, and took it. We couldn't stay for more than about 40 minutes, and I don't doubt that it lasted well into the night. But I downed a beer, and wished him well. He was one of the last remaining good guys in our organization, and it sucks that he's left, but it's the right job move for him

Afterwards, we grabbed some chai at Java Monkey, as well as chocolate-covered espresso beans for 'song, and headed home. Mike came by to pick us up, and we headed to Meleena's (sp?) place, then to Wal-Mart. We browsed for about two hours, finding stuff we wanted but resisted (Spider-Man action figures from the movie!), as well as DVDs we did need, including Soul Survivor, Mortal Kombat, and Masters of the Universe. I also bought Spongebob boxers.

We then headed for a Dim Sum place they knew, and Meleena, Mike, and I pigged out while 'song had white rice. The food was yummy, and I was stuffed by the end. After, Mike drove Meleena home, then we went to his place to pick up some stuff we'd loaned him, during which Mike and I talked baseball, much to 'song's chagrin. He then dropped us off, and we were off to bed, exhausted. 'song and I both liked Meleena, and of course, we love Mike, so it was a fun evening.

Today's plans include bookstores and movies, plus gerbil cage cleaning.

Oooh ooh and we got Elayna a bubble set "utilizing new bubble technology!!!" and Tooth Fairy Barbie for when her loose teeth finally come out (does anyone know if having a loose tooth for 3 months is normal?!?) and a Powerpuff Girls umbrella. Because she used to have a Pooh Bear umbrella, but James stole it (along with most of my DVDs and CDs). And she keeps asking if we've found it yet. She really likes having her own umbrella. So it's a kid-sized blue umbrella with PPG graphics and a big plastic Bubbles head on the end.
