For those who are wondering, the new washer/drier arrived yesterday, and it's great. It actually dries a load of laundry in one sitting. I'm just stunned! It's shiny, too. The only drawback is that it won't quite fit -- there are two useless cabinets in the laundry nook, and the drier is too small to go under them. But that's a minor detail. At least we can wash and dry clothes properly now.
