The good news: Marvel has freelance writing guidelines (and artist ones too, mousegrrl) up on the web at http://www.marvel.com/about/submissions_guide/submissions.htm

The bad news: This line appears in them:

"When submitting writing samples, please submit a brief paragraph or two that describes you entire story, we call this a springboard."

"You entire story?" Is it too much to ask that they actually proofread their own guidelines?

and Marvel laid me off lo so long ago. Silly men. If they hadn't done that, they might have had a halfway competent proofreader. I caught things when I worked for them, but they didn't have me read enough stuff to catch everything, like Sabertooth's infamous religious slur.
