Jun. 4th, 2002 02:32 pmThis has been a long fucking day.
Had a 1.5 hour meeting with our Centrinity rep, which was bloody and brutal, as we had to explain that we love the features, but need to know that the company can handle a customer as big as us. Was long and painful, and frustrated more by the Tech Services folks needing to really vent.
Then went to lunch with Alan and Kathy, where we vented amongst ourselves about the need for community, and how the university infrastructure will never be designed to sustain it. This morphed into venting about the various issues at a university in which the healthcare business ends up wreaking havoc on the academic side of things, and how fucked the values of the modern university in general, and Emory in specific, are.
After that cheery meal (which was at Burrito Art, so at least I had a Tofu Vindaloo burrito to make me happy), we went to our admin meeting with the Tech Services people to talk strategy for handling the folks with nuked accounts, and for dealing with other fallout from the crash.
And now I'm back, and I have to deal with email and other fun stuff.
I need a nap. And a good primal scream.
