This has been a long fucking day.

Had a 1.5 hour meeting with our Centrinity rep, which was bloody and brutal, as we had to explain that we love the features, but need to know that the company can handle a customer as big as us. Was long and painful, and frustrated more by the Tech Services folks needing to really vent.

Then went to lunch with Alan and Kathy, where we vented amongst ourselves about the need for community, and how the university infrastructure will never be designed to sustain it. This morphed into venting about the various issues at a university in which the healthcare business ends up wreaking havoc on the academic side of things, and how fucked the values of the modern university in general, and Emory in specific, are.

After that cheery meal (which was at Burrito Art, so at least I had a Tofu Vindaloo burrito to make me happy), we went to our admin meeting with the Tech Services people to talk strategy for handling the folks with nuked accounts, and for dealing with other fallout from the crash.

And now I'm back, and I have to deal with email and other fun stuff.

I need a nap. And a good primal scream.

Sounds like fun. Ugh.

Don't know if it helps any, but I've been hitting on your woman while you were occupied...

Tofu.
Vindaloo.
Burrito.

No, we are not relocating to Atlanta just so you can try this. ;p

(Seriously, those are three of Clint's favorite food components. Good god, I find it hard to think of anything nastier. *shudder* Glad you guys like that stuff though.)

Ah, the joy of university politics. How I miss it. Not.

I wouldn't give up working for a small, private company for anything. Being answerable to one person is the best (provided, of course, it's the current benevolent dictatorship. I wouldn't relish working for Larry Ellison or something).

Don't. More intense politicking. And trust me, if you aren't in bed with the right people (literally!), then you are the whipping boy.

Tofu Vindaloo? WTF?

And if it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat with my company. So I feel your pain, bub.
