:-) I was trying to explain the thrill of Die Hard to shadesong this morning, but she still isn't interested in seeing it, even though she loves AR. She's never even heard the line, "Now I have a machine gun. Ho, Ho, Ho."
*sigh* I'm in love with a woman who really needs to watch more movies.
Everyone needs to watch more movies. The three Die Hard movies were one of my first dvd purchases. Though I could have really skipped 2, but it was a package deal.
Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons as villians. Delicious.
Okay, Shadesong, I could understand if you didn't want to watch the sequels, but I assure you, DieHard was actually a FUN movie, if you like action flicks at all. Even if you don't, there was enough comedy to make it worthwhile.
My personal favourite quote is, "The quarterback is toast!"
Die Hard was, indeed, a fun film. Very many quotable lines. Every Gary Oldman-as-villain flick that's been made since then reminds me that Oldman-villains are all Rickman-villain wannabes.
I am totally unsuprised by this:
Which Alan Rickman Character Are You? (http://www.liquid2k.com/tangerinespeedo/arquiz.html)
"Truly, Madly, Deeply" is such a fabulous film. I'd like to watch it again, because the only time I saw it was when I happened upon it on cable. I desperately needed catharsis, and it ended up being the perfect thing to watch. A four-hanky film.
and under the heading of 'what a coincidence!' I find that Die Hard is playing on a satellite movie channel near me even at this very moment, so I'm off to watch it before I miss any of the shooting and blowing things up. <.G>
i was subjected to Die Hard when i was dating Weasel -- ehn. i suppose if you take it as the Big Dumb Action Film that it is, 'song, you might not hate it.
for me, not even the Who's Who of Yummy Bad Guy Actors could redeem it. and it didn't help that i Totally Cannot Stand Bruce Willis. (only movie i didn't completely hate him in was The Fifth Element.)
All these movie people! Look, sambear needs a movie buddy. He loves movies. The man would happily see three in a row and love it. I'm just not big on them and prefer watching them at home rather than in a theater. Somebody please be his movie buddy?
I'm certainly up for it (especially if I score some of the preview passes that shadesong isn't interested in)! I adore movies, but don't get to see them often enough in the theatres.
Hehe. Despite the latent hatred for dumb action movies around here, I'm game for them, largely because I don't get enough of it in real life. They're fast, they're furious, and they're a great distraction. :)
I'll still watch Die Hard if I happen to be flipping channels. Good fun. Especially with lines like "Hans... bubbie[sp]... I'm your white knight!"
