1. Where were you born?

New York City.

2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not?

I'd love to live in NYC. To me, it's everything a city should be, whereas Atlanta is almost everything a city shouldn't be (although Atlanta has become a great food town and a decent theatre town in recent years). But I could only live in NYC if I were filthy rich, alas.

3. Where in the world do you feel the safest?

At home, cuddled up with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong.

4. Do you feel you are well-traveled?

Somewhat, given my overall lack of funds and time. I've made it to a few places I've wanted to go (DC lots of times, London, Ottawa, etc. But there are still too many places left on my list.

5. Where is the most interesting place you've been?

Dunno how one would define "interesting." I find DC and San Francisco and London and Ottawa all interesting cities, but others may find 'em boring.

1) Cambridge, UK (my dad was on a postdoc there, so we left when I was 6 months old...)

2) I visited there briefly exactly 25 years after I left. It's no longer how mom described it. Insanely expensive considering the salaries in academia in the UK. So no, no deep desire to go back.

3) I felt safest standing on the cliff in front of Nobska Light (Woods Hole, Cape Cod, MA). But they just shingled over the house part of the light, so it's this wierd fresh wood color right now instead of the classic white it had been for at least 30 years. And somehow that really signalled how that's not really my home anymore, so still looking.

4) Canada, France, Germany, UK, Switzerland, Italy, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, etc etc... so uh, yeah, I'm a spoiled little brat. Wow I love conferences. Plenty of places I haven't been that I still want to go, whole continents even, and there's tons of all of those countries listed that I haven't explored at all.

5) Most interesting (exciting)... Rome, most beautiful .. Venice, feels most like home... Paris (living there for a year will do that). most fun... swimming with the dolphins in Hawaii, skiing the alps in Switzerland, surf kayaking on the Jersey Shore. I didn't make it to the Great Barrier Reef yet though...

1. Where were you born?

Walla Walla, Washington, "The City So Nice They Named It Twice," and Bugs Bunny's most powerful magic word.

2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not?

I don't really remember it. I moved to England when I was about 2 months old.

3. Where in the world do you feel the safest?

Probably when I'm home in Minnesota visiting my parents, because I relax so much I sleep the sleep of the dead.

4. Do you feel you are well-traveled?

Yeah, I'm an Air Force brat, so I've been all over the US and England and Spain. Of course, I wasn't really old enough to appreciate Europe, and I'd like to go back some day.

5. Where is the most interesting place you've been?

London.
