What's on your bedside table?

It’s not a table, per se, just some toy boxes. On it are a couple of books and magazines, a pen, a box of condoms, and occasionally my glasses.

What is the geekiest part of your music collection?

Um. Tough one. I like lots of “geek rock” (BNL, Moxy, etc – not a Weezer fan, though). I also like cheesy ‘80s pop and hair metal. I also have Steven Brust and Neil Gaiman CDs (although the latter is spoken-word). What makes music geeky, anyway?

What do you eat when you raid the fridge late at night?

Chocolate. Or pickles. I do not eat chocolate-covered pickles, though.

What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?

Hell. I cry at just about any movie with a weepy scene in it. Especially movies that deal with family issues, and especially ones with father issues (given my lack of one, not a surprise). Lilo and Stich was the last movie I can recall crying at.

If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?

Assuming a perfect world (i.e., one without risk, because elective surgery strikes me as stupid), liposuction. I know my face isn’t exactly handsome, but it’s me. My gut, on the other hand, can go.

Do you have a completely irrational fear?

Nope. I have a completely irrational dislike or two (any creature with more than four legs, mutant dogs excluded), but no irrational fears. It’s only irrational if it’s based on a lack of evidence, and I know that the clowns are coming to get me.

Seriously, I hate large groups of people. Large gatherings scare the shit out of me.

What is the little physical habit that gives away an insecure moment?

Hmmm. I tend to be nervous a lot, so it’s hard to tell what’s a nervous habit, and what’s normal. I’d go with my rapid finger movements.

Do you ever have to beg?

Nope.

Are you a pyromaniac?

I used to be. I still enjoy fire, but from a distance.

But I think we all have an inner Beavis.

Do you have too many love interests?

I’ve just got the one. And [Bad username or site: ”shadesong” @ livejournal.com] is more than enough. :-)

Do you know anyone famous?

I guess it depends how you define "famous" (and "know" {and "do"} ). I went to elementary school with Ian Lithgow, so I “know” his dad, John. I’ve met and had dinner with Charles de Lint, Emma Bull, and other authors, but I’m not sure any of them would remember me (maybe Charles). But I certainly don’t count anyone famous amongst my regular friends and acquaintances.

Describe your bed.

Queen-size, with different firmness settings for each side. Comfy. Uncomfortable sheets, though, as they are the kind that are extra warm, retaining all body heat. I like the super cold sheets (and no, I have no idea how to officially describe the two types).

Who should play you in a movie about your life?

Umm. Depends on the movie, I guess. Dunno. Maybe Josh Hartnett, so I can imagine teenage girls drooling over “me.”

Do you know how to play poker?

Yes, although I’m a bit rusty (I know poker rules better than betting rules).

What do you carry with you at all times?

My wallet, and a book.

How do you drive?

I don’t, yet. Went driving for the first time in years a few weeks ago, and barely managed to avoid a nervous breakdown.

What do you miss most about being little?

Being able to sit and read with no responsibilities.

Are you happy with your given name?

Yes.

What was the last song you were listening to?

“Get This Party Started,” by Pink. Was hunting for some MP3s for 'song (who's never heard Pink).

How much money would it take to get you to give up the Internet for one year?

One year? I figure a million dollars should do. Maybe. After taxes. And I reserve the right to heavily update my Amazon wishlist the day before I stop logging in.

What color is your bedroom?

Ummm. One wall is brick. One’s glass. Ones frosted glass. And one’s white. Or maybe beige. One of those.

Have you ever been in a play?

Last one I was in was back in high school – Beyond the Fringe.

Have you ever been in love?

A few times. Including now.

Do you talk a lot?

Yes, but not in large groups. See above.

Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?

Not as often as I probably should.

Have you ever done any illegal drugs?

Pot, three times. Also underage drinking plenty of times (but not in over nine years)

Do you think you're cute?

Nope. It’s because I’m not. I may occasionally not be butt-ugly, but I’m never cute.

Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?

Not really. I’m short-tempered, petty, and I hold a grudge forever.
