This one actually puts together some stuff I'd been thinking about, anyway.

01. Your live journal "user name" & what it means: Yendi. It's taken from Brust's Vlad Taltos series, the one series of "high fantasy" that's worth reading, imho. The info on the clan is on my user page. I chose the name based on the Yendi in general, not the book Yendi, which was probably the weakest in the series (although still fun).

02. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your livejournal represent who you actually are?:

Maybe a 6? It doesn't falsely represent me, but I don't think it comes close to giving a complete picture.

03. How much about your life do you post to lj?: Maybe 25%

04. Is there anything you refuse to post about?: I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

05. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?: Honestly, I don't know. I post maybe three things a week that I really expect comments on, but they frequently get fewer comments than the stuff that I figure is pointless fluff. I can't really guess on this one.

06. From who/how did you find out about lj?: At least three folks -- [livejournal.com profile] one_woman_army, [livejournal.com profile] laurel, and [livejournal.com profile] wintersweet -- were folks I knew from other lists whose LJs I'd checked out. [livejournal.com profile] laurel is the one I actually snagged a code from, though.

07. Has anyone ever joined lj because of you?: [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, for sure. Others have gotten codes from me, but might well have joined anyway had I not been around, so it's hard to say.

08. What proportion of your posts are friends only?: 5-10%, I guess.

09. What is your favorite interest on lj?: I dunno. I like all of them. I like a bunch I can't list, too.

10. Has anything on lj ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something?: On LJ? No.

11. How often do you respond / comment on other peoples journals?: Pretty often, but I try to avoid commenting for the sake of commenting. I still don't comment as often as I'd like, as there are plenty of interesting posts to respond to that I never have the time for until three days after the post.

12. Do you prefer to write in your journal, read other journals?: Both, although I tend towards the latter.

13. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on lj (or did it to someone else)?: One flame war/argument that I recall. No stalkings (unless they're damned good at it!) or harassment.

14. Have you ever banned someone from your journal?: No, although there are some folks I would ban if they ever tried posting.

15. Who are your favorite lj friend(s) and why?: What? You expect me to answer this one?

16. How many of your LJ friends have you actually met? 38, although I may be miscounting by a few. At least half of them were folks I'd met pre-LJ.

17. Of all of the people on lj you know of, who is the most like you?: I don't know. No one's exactly like me, or even at the 90% level. Lots of folks have lots in common with me, but in different ways. So yeah, this is another question I'm not answering. :-)

18. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?: Because I enjoy reading their stuff often enough to want to see it on my friends page.

19. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?: Usually. Sometimes I just bookmark those pages and read them when/if I'm done with my friends page.

20. What is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list?: Most likely a signal-to-noise thing -- I've got enough posts on my friends page that I have to be choosier, frankly.

21. Is your "significant other" on lj?: Yes. [livejournal.com profile] shadesong.

22. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on lj?: Yep. And I've met some folks, but there are plenty more I'd like to meet someday.

I found most of your answers quite enlightening, 'tho some of the responses were less than informative. However, as this is a 'public' forum, I can easily see where some thing might be too personal, or are simply noone else's business.

Argh. I tried to post my answers to this survey, but when I went to submit, it got lost and I couldn't get it back... Poop. Maybe I'll try again... I just don't feel like it right now.
