Won Warcraft III. Night Elves suck -- they're not bad from a strategic pov, but their storyline annoys me, which is why I won it fastest, I think. :-) There's no doubt that there'll be an expansion pack for Warcraft III -- aside from the fact that they did it for Warcraft II and Starcraft, there are also plenty of loose ends (including two or three major villainous characters still about). And the credit sequence is priceless!

I then walked up to Whole Foods for some shopping and lunch (turns out I didn't need to hit the Girl Scout Store today). Gorged myself on sushi (eight points worth), and got some frozen stuff for lunch next week and some ginger spice granola for [livejournal.com profile] shadesong (the bulk granola there is her favorite). Walked home, started to read, and crashed. Hard. Slept for about two hours, woke up about ten minutes before [livejournal.com profile] shadesong called (which meant that I was only 90% out of it when I spoke to her). Got a call from [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe a few minutes later -- looks like we'll be doing a guys night out thing tonight (most likely poker or a movie).

Umm, other than that, nothing really interesting happened. I'm really enjoying The Straw Men (even if some asshole cover copy writer called it his "Debut" novel -- just because the publishers insisted he use the name "Michael Marshall" instead of "Michael Marshall Smith" on the cover does not make it a debut, and if [livejournal.com profile] jennywrenn ever lets me know which asshole in her company is responsible for this, I may have to rip him/her/it a new one). I just need to read it at a time when I'm not tired. Watched the season finale from last season of Andromeda. Haven't watched the season premiere yet. Since the entire episode revolves around my two favorite characters being missing, I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it (less screentime for them means more screentime for Harper, I'm afraid). And Shadesong and Elayna should be home any minute now, so I'll close this entry now.

I'm pretty sure we only distribute Jove, so whoever decided to put that on probably doesn't work here. But author's usually have some sort of cover approval (at least they do here), so he might be okay with it. Of course, he also may have had no choice in the matter. But it does look like I may have to break down and actually pay money for it (I'm going to try ordering) cause I want to read it like, a lot.

Sorry I can't point you in the direction of hole-tearing though. :-)

You know the story behind the name change, yes? This book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/051512950X/002-0803093-3279230) came out not too long before and they sensed the possibility of confusion. MM(S) himself has referred to "being two-thirds the man [he] used to be".
