As usual, our monthly Westfield order (and I can't rave enough about how much I enjoy using them), with additional comments thrown in:


Aquaman 1 -- This is the new Rick Veitch version. It's coming off a storyline in the medicre JLA, but Ri ck (unlike Tom) Veitch is capable of great things.
Birds of Prey 50 -- This is the first issue written by Gilbert Hernandez. The idea of Beto writing this book just cracks me up.
Dexter's Laboratory 33 -- For the kidling, of course.
Green Arrow 20 -- I've really enjoyed Brad Meltzer's first two issues, especially as a Starman fan (he's been using Shade, and the most recent issue has a surprise appearance by someone else from the series).
Looney Tunes 97 -- For the kid.
Powerpuff Girls 33 --Ditto.
Supergirl 77 For us. Peter David rocks. And this looks to be an interesting storyline, with the Silver Age supergirl playing a role in things.

Hellblazer Special: Lady Constantine 1 -- Yeah, it may suck, but it's a character that I've enjoyed for a while.
War Story: J for Jenny -- Garth Ennis seems to be placing his quality eggs in the war basket, writing great stuff for this series, and utter crap for Marvel and Black Bull.

Mekanix 3 -- Having read the first issue, I'm actually impressed. Guess Claremont does have a good story left in him, after all. Oh, and astrophysicat -- they've made Kitty Pryde into an astrophysics student!

Powers 27 -- This series continues to get better each month. It may be my favorite read right now.
Rex Mundi 1 -- The prequel was damned interesting. morenasangre -- I think you'd like this one! Ditto any Tim Powers fan.
Tom Judge: End of Days 1 -- Paul Jenkins. Always worth a look.
Total Sell Out (tpb) -- Early Bendis, back before he had people to spellcheck him.
Strangers in Paradise: Bathing Beauty Katchoo statue -- yeep. This was $50 of our order. We could only afford it because of a slow month otherwise, and the $20 in credit we had with them.
Gloom Cookie: Monster's Christmas
Futurama / Simpsons: Special Crossover #2 -- about damned time.

Shonen Jump Vol. 1 2 -- may suck, may be great. More likely, as with Animerica Extra and other anthologies, it'll probably be a mix. But the price is good, at least.
Wizard (G.I. Joe/Transformers cover) -- Yeah, that was the least sucky of the cover options. Wizard is also an all-shadesong thing. I think it's crap on a stick, minus the stick.
Cherry Prime 1 -- Classic Cherry Poptart!
Small Favors Vol. 1 (tpb) -- An adult comic; shadesong and I both liked the one issue we read.
Exiles (tpb) -- Since our previous supplier still hasn't gotten it to us, we've given up and ordered it again.

That's the run for the month. We passed on a few things that were tempting (the Brave and the Bold special, the next Dork Tower collection, etc). Anyone see anything else that's a must-have??
