Fuck.

Got home from a day at Six Flags, and the house door was open. At first, I thought it was because the door had been unlocked. Then I noticed the big wooden chips on the floor. Someone broke in and robbed us.

They got both tvs, the stereo, some crappy jewelery (they didn't know where the good stuff was), and [livejournal.com profile] iroshi and [livejournal.com profile] mcredneck's backpack, which, aside from having the laptop, also had a gameboy, a palmpilot, a camera, and, worst of all (in the "not replaceable" sense), their bus tickets home. Which can't be replaced or refunded. We have renter's insurance, which will cover everything, but it's still horrifying.

They didn't take a lot of stuff, including the two desktop computers, the DVD players, the VCRs, the Tivo. Hell, it could have been much worse.

But all I feel right now is a mix of anger and frustration. Combined with the post-anger adrenalin rush.

And I've got to deal with packing tomorrow. And leaving without resolving this (if it weren't for the fact that it could literally cost me my job, I'd have considered cancelling the trip).

Fortuantely, Elayna is at a sleepover tonight. She saw the robbery, but was handling it better than anyone else (although when it sinks in that she can't watch TV tomorrow, who knows? ;-)

I don't have the patience to deal with the computer or email any more. I'm just fucking tired. Gotta pack.

Oh my gosh Adam, that is so horrible. :( I feel for you. I know how violated you must feel that someone came into your abode and went through your personal things. :(

*huge hugs*

Dear God, I'm so sorry. That's absolutely horrible, and what a time for it to happen, too. I hope the police were able to give you some kind of hope that they'll actually do something about the situation. And good for you for having insurance; not everyone thinks to.

Aw shit. I am so sorry to read that. It's the violation of being robbed, too -- scary.

(It's probably unnecessary to mention this, but...) check the local pawnshops, particularly if you have serial numbers. I know the cops say they do that, but it can't hurt to check yourself (we had a theft from our office, and they didn't report it to at least one local pawnshop).

That's terrible.

Damn. Getting robbed sucks. But at least no one was hurt and you can replace all the stuff that got taken. Did your friends check with the bus company to see if anyone has tried using the tickets?

Hey! I gave them that PalmPilot!!! Lousy bastard son-of-a-bitch robber! *snarls viciously* I hope something nasty happens to him. I'm going to be good enough to not try to enforce that myself, but that's the limit of my good will at the moment. Now I'm glad I didn't offer to loan them Mom's digital camera, though....

crap man.. I'm sorry.. Hope you at least called the cops and call a few pawn shops to get an alert out on some of the stuff.. That really sucks.. I'm sorry..

BTW.. what kind of gameboy was it? a regular one? or a GBC or GBA? I have a straight up old gameboy that I picked up for uber cheap that I would gladly donate as a free replacement

Holy crap, I'm so sorry. It may only be stuff, but the house can feel so strange after being robbed. Hang in there. Glad things sound like their mostly under control, though.
