Nov. 2nd, 2002 09:31 pmFuck.
Got home from a day at Six Flags, and the house door was open. At first, I thought it was because the door had been unlocked. Then I noticed the big wooden chips on the floor. Someone broke in and robbed us.
They got both tvs, the stereo, some crappy jewelery (they didn't know where the good stuff was), and
iroshi and
mcredneck's backpack, which, aside from having the laptop, also had a gameboy, a palmpilot, a camera, and, worst of all (in the "not replaceable" sense), their bus tickets home. Which can't be replaced or refunded. We have renter's insurance, which will cover everything, but it's still horrifying.
They didn't take a lot of stuff, including the two desktop computers, the DVD players, the VCRs, the Tivo. Hell, it could have been much worse.
But all I feel right now is a mix of anger and frustration. Combined with the post-anger adrenalin rush.
And I've got to deal with packing tomorrow. And leaving without resolving this (if it weren't for the fact that it could literally cost me my job, I'd have considered cancelling the trip).
Fortuantely, Elayna is at a sleepover tonight. She saw the robbery, but was handling it better than anyone else (although when it sinks in that she can't watch TV tomorrow, who knows? ;-)
I don't have the patience to deal with the computer or email any more. I'm just fucking tired. Gotta pack.
