It's late, so a quick update:

Tori concert was damned good. It would be nice if she remembered the second-best album she ever did (Under the Pink), and paid a little more attention to her best one (Little Earthquakes), as the weakest songs off either of those are leagues better than most of her other stuff. But it was still fun. Even if the opening act sucked rotten donkey balls. With a bendy-straw.

I've also come to the conclusion that I hate most Tori fans. Especially the ones who feel the need to scream at a nigh-unimaginable pitch each time she starts one note of a new song, as if to say, "oooh, the one with the piano! I love this one!"

Big thanks to jet_li_wannabe and bheansidhe for handling Elayna while we were at the show for so long! You guys rock!

And it was nice to come home to find that the Jets beat the Dolphins. Mind you, anyone beating the Dolphins is a good thing. And the Jets beating anyone is good, as well. This is just a nice one-two combo.

Anyway, too tired for real writing. Will post more on the above subjects tomorrow.

Hell. Yes.

That's why I put all my Tori shirts in a bag to give away. Why I never wear them in public. Why I don't have Tori Amos in my interests. Because I'm sick of teenage (21, tops) "Toriphiles" rushing at me and gushing at me and talking a mile a minute about how much Tori speaks to them.

Makes me want to throttle them.

Nope. I don't even think I've ever bumped into them on LJ before.

Exactly my reaction. Mind you, I've never worried about having it on my interest list (with over 1000 other folks with her as an interest, it's not likely to stand out as much). But yeah, the obsessiveness of some of the fans truly frightens me. And I'm one of those people who absolutely adores good music, but I've never felt the need to obsess over any artist that much (and this applies as much to the folks who wanted to kill themselves after Kurt Cobain died, and to the whole Beatlemania movement, even). Good music is a wonderful thing, but raising artists to the level of deity, while an improvement over those we currently place there, is still a bad idea.

And as to Tori t-shirts, they were selling for $35 a pop. I wouldn't buy one if it was the nicest shirt ever made. Any artist asking that much for a tour shirt doesn't really give a rat's ass about her fans, but that's a rant I'll be posting later.

I grew up a Jets fan. Hating the Dolphins, for me, is like Pakastanis hating India. It's ingrained at an early age.
