The Fool's Errand, Part 2!

The sequel I've waited half my life for is finally coming out! Yes, I'm talking about the sequel to Cliff Johnson's The Fool's Errand, possibly the greatest thinking person's computer game ever made (and certainly up there with the Infocom classics, Cliff's own Three in Three, and others). http://www.fools-errand.com/05-the-fool-and-his-money/index.htm has the info.

Also, note that the other games Cliff wrote are available for a free download from this site. Definitely grab Three in Three and the original Fool's Errand.

(of course, the last sequel I waited this long for had a Muppet named Jar-Jar in it; I have higher hopes for this one).

The only computer game I have EVER gotten into (playing into the wee hours, putting other things aside in academically dangerous ways etc.) is 3 in 3. The guy I was dating at the time gave me hard time about how long it was taking me to "finish" and said he'd never met a game he couldn't master in a day or less. Told him to go for it, and found him asleep on the floor the next morning, with only four or five puzzles done. HA! Although I do have to credit him for solving one of the math ones for me, or I would still be stuck there.

I think I would have loved Fool's Errand as well, but for the fact that I had a multiply copied disc that was corrupted in a really ugly way. But now it looks like I can get a clean (and legal) copy. Yeay!

Hey, excellent. I loved that game. I never did solve the Sun's Map at the end, though. I finally got someone else's game, with the map solved, and copied it… only to realize that the game I was playing was missing the final animation. I never did see how the game ended.

Maybe I can get the game and finally find out… although the website listed above caused multiple popup errors for me in Internet Explorer, and made Netscape crash altogether.
