Two comic notes

First, Jay Faerber's Noble Causes, the comic that's made superheroes fun again, will have a special out in a few months called Noble Causes: Extended Family, featuring short stories by the following combinations of writers and artists:

I'd rather see no one but Jay write his title, but these are some mighty fine writers and artists.

And second, the awesome Carla Speed McNeil, creator of the most unique comic ever, Finder, will be drawing the next arc of King and Country! Rucka and McNeil on a comic together! Woohoo!

(the reason I dropped K+C early on, in fact, was that the art made almost every character look alike, a royal pain in any spy story; I've got no such worries with Carla).

It's an Ellis project not being published by Avatar. That means I'm pretty sure I'll love it. :-)

Although I'd love to see another fucking issue of Ministry of Space.

I really must be new to the comic scene, because I don't recognize a single name on that list.

Notable ones include Johns, who is the "It" writer, handling JSA, Avengers, Flash, Hawkman, and others; Hester, who worked mainly in indies, but did art on Kevin Smith's Green Arrow; J Torres, who did Copybook Tales and does various nifty things for Oni; Vaughn, whose Y: The Last Man is one of Vertigo's big books; and Simone, a fan writer who has hit the big time recently.

Karla's nice--spent most of two days sitting next to her at APE. Didn't buy any of Finder, though--art wasn't working for me, but I'll read the issue she gave me and see if the story can overcome that for me. ^_^

I love her art, although her style often changes by the issue. But I love her storytelling even more. I'm glad to hear she's nice, too.

Read #1 first, if you can; the book is hard to jump into in the middle. She also puts some issues up on her website.
