Forget that one. Although it had such a "greatest hits" feel that I don't really think of it as a soundtrack. It's not as musically diverse as the other two, although it may be the best punk sampler ever.
Rushmore is an awesome soundtrack.. by the end of the weekend I should have more ammo to combat your statement.. I'm just waiting for my brother to get his ass online.. his music/movie knowledge is the best of anyone I know
It wasn't a statement -- it's a genuine question. I'm always open to other options (like the aforementioned Crow soundtrack). So post away (even though I'll probably be away)!
I never heard the Magnolia soundtrack. I like Pulp Fiction, but it's not up there with the others. As for D+C, part of it is the GPB problem -- '70s rock is great, but it's not like I didn't have half of the CD anyway (I mean, who doesn't have Kiss or Alice Cooper, or even "Cherry Bomb"). I like soundtracks that are new listening experiences for me, or ways of reintroducing me to stuff I might have missed.
I don't own any Alice Cooper or Kiss cds.. i'd be embarrassed to have them on the shelf to be honest heh.. D&C for me just combines some of the best music from one of my favourite movies.. Half the fun of listening to it is picturing the part of the movie its playing over..
hmm. You've got me thinking about what soundtracks for 90s movies I've even heard. I never saw Clueless so have no idea what's on the soundtrack. I didn't enjoy Tank Girl very much and don't remember the music at all. I loved Grosse Point Blank but hated the music. (I know. I'm an oddity. I grew up in the 80s and hate 80s music. Well...most of it, anyway.)
I really enjoyed the soundtrack to Mortal Kombat. In fact I pretty much wore it out. I was attracted to the Lost In Space soundtrack and gained much enjoyment from that. I liked most of the songs from The Mask soundtrack.
But I think my favorite 90s soundtrack is probably The Lion King. And not for the songs that Elton John sang himself.
I loved the Mortal Kombat soundtrack. The laser tag place that I used to go to pumped that soundtrack throughout the arena. It really pumped you up. :)
Shit -- can't believe I'd forgotten that one. SD is one of my favorite movies, and I loved the soundtrack, too. Best movie James Cameron's been involved with in years.
