Were there any better soundtracks in the '90s than Tank Girl and Clueless?

(okay, so that wasn't my last post)

Oh come on.. Its a killed soundtrack.. You really need part 1 and part 2 though.. Just to get the complete feel.

High Fidelity just squeaked outside your consideration in 2000

Rushmore is an awesome soundtrack.. by the end of the weekend I should have more ammo to combat your statement.. I'm just waiting for my brother to get his ass online.. his music/movie knowledge is the best of anyone I know

Why not? admittedly the part 2 soundtrack is pretty weak and STILL missing Bob Dylan... but its a great rock soundtrack..

How about Pulp Fiction? Magnolia was pretty good too

How about the Singles soundtrack?

I don't own any Alice Cooper or Kiss cds.. i'd be embarrassed to have them on the shelf to be honest heh.. D&C for me just combines some of the best music from one of my favourite movies.. Half the fun of listening to it is picturing the part of the movie its playing over..

Ahh, yes. The Singles soundtrack. There are some great tracks on that. Like Chris Cornell's solo and Smashing Pumpkin's "Drown"

Magnolia is worth the purchase. There's really only one lackluster song on there, but the rest will pull on your heartstrings.

Except for the Celine Dion travesty, the Sleepless in Seattle soundtrack has some great old standards.

Another great soundtrack.. minus that Jane Sibbery abortion that ends it.. But at the end is better than in the middle..

hmm. You've got me thinking about what soundtracks for 90s movies I've even heard. I never saw Clueless so have no idea what's on the soundtrack. I didn't enjoy Tank Girl very much and don't remember the music at all. I loved Grosse Point Blank but hated the music. (I know. I'm an oddity. I grew up in the 80s and hate 80s music. Well...most of it, anyway.)

I really enjoyed the soundtrack to Mortal Kombat. In fact I pretty much wore it out. I was attracted to the Lost In Space soundtrack and gained much enjoyment from that. I liked most of the songs from The Mask soundtrack.

But I think my favorite 90s soundtrack is probably The Lion King. And not for the songs that Elton John sang himself.

Fight!

I loved the Mortal Kombat soundtrack. The laser tag place that I used to go to pumped that soundtrack throughout the arena. It really pumped you up. :)

Empire Records, totally. And the Cool World soundtrack. Romeo+Juliet (the one with DiCaprio and Clare Danes). Hudson Hawk.

And I just have to give it up for the Ferris Bueller soundtrack, despite knowing that it was waaay back in the 80s...

How about "Name of the Father"? Some really great tracks in that, including old ballads done to rock beats....
