LJ is being all pear-shaped, putting my friends page out of order, with new comments appearing below older ones (even when date-stamping is correct). So lots of scrolling to do today.

Changed my userinfo page slightly, adding my Amazon wishlist (just in case someone feels a sudden urge to buy me an iPod, or maybe a DVD), removing Adam Felber's weblog link (now that it's syndicated onto LJ), and adding a link to the weblog of Christopher Priest (the good one who writes Black Panther and gave Peter David his first long-term comics writing job, not the evil one who hates Harlan Ellison).

Last night was uneventful. After [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and [livejournal.com profile] thegreyman went out, and Miss Kid went to bed, I fell asleep on the couch for two hours (unintentionally). Woke up and watch a couple of episodes of Unwrapped, and went back to bed shortly after Shadesong got back.

The rest of the week looks less uneventful. Tonight is the usual Buffy night, of course. Tomorrow, I'm taking a day off to play Blood Bowl with [livejournal.com profile] voltbang, [livejournal.com profile] blueingenue, and [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe (um, that's still on, right guys?) Thursday night is the final gaming night at [livejournal.com profile] chelona and [livejournal.com profile] voltbang's. Friday, I'm off, and originally, it was to play Blood Bowl, but now, I'm not sure if that's the plan, or if it's just a day off. But either way, that night, Elayna's grandparents get into town, and we'll be in full pre-party mode. Saturday, of course, is Elayna's party, followed by attending the farewell party for Voltbang and Chelona. Sunday involves buying Elayna furniture with the grandparents, and some other stuff.

So yeah, last night was a welcome break. The calm before the storm, as it were.

Today's a busy enough day at work. Have to prepare for another nasty meeting, following by EOL pre-project planning.

Currently reading about thirty things, but my favorite right now is the copy of Silver Nails I picked up at Megacon. I just love Kim Newman -- he's one of the few people who can write interesting vampires.

Kim Newman fascinates me. I've met him a good few times at cons, and had dinner with him once. He's the most resolutely silent, monosyallabic man I've ever met - unless you can get him onto a subject he likes, or in front of a crowd, in which case he suddenly becomes a genuine Orator. It's bizarre.

He interviewed China Mieville here last year; it was great.

It is my intention to take over gaming nights at my house starting the following week. I'd rather have everyone still get together, if possible. I'll be discussing it with everyone on Thursday, so people can find where we are, and I can get a feel for how interested people are.

I need to go buy a table, though. :)
